Bump in the road; or down the stairs
ok, need a little time to adjust from our morning… first real accident for our family; max fell backwards and head over heals down the steep wooden stairs today. im just now not crying…. he knocked two teeth clear out of his head…. sickening. the pediatrician said ‘all is OK, and he’ll ge over it faster than we will” and the pediatric dentist said he doesnt need to be seen unless we want him to be seen. it wont affect the permanent teeth and he’ll adjust by chewing around them. it’s the bottom right incisor and canine. i was looking at the zits on my face when it happened, talk about guilt!…. i was too far from him to stop it and was completely frozen too.
so, with motrin in his belly, he seems no worse for the wear this afternoon, was a little freaked out this morning though….
eric wanted me to post a picture of the teeth, but i can’t say i feel like it right now. his beautiful brand new teeth, i’m thoroughly bummed.
this might have been the last thing i needed right now as we get ready to move…..

what an awful feeling that must have been… for all of you!
i’m sorry.
maybe you could make the helmet (below) part of his every day ensemble?
don’t be too hard on yourself. accidents happen. but i’m sorry it happened and i’m glad he’s ok.

ooooouuuuuhccccchhh!!!! poor baby! glad to hear he’ll recover quickly, and i do know the pit-of-the-stomach wretched feeling of watching a baby get hurt (my last family, the little boy fell down the porch steps and scraped up his poor wee face) healing vibes- love k

o, so scary to be sure…. but you’re now in great company of splendid parents who came before you !
You, My Little One, went down the Pratt Drive stairs in your walker - over and over - and when I had calmed down and was feeding you lunch in your high chair, I noticed your pupils were not equal!!! So, being the good nurse and mom that I was, called your Father home from the hospital immediately!!! He was with us in minutes and after taking a good look at you calmly asked if I had taken note of the placement of your high chair right next to the window….where the sun constricted your right pupil - leaving the darkened left one more dialated….
ah, Motherhood…. you and Max looked just fine to us on our first Rochester visit….. peace and love, mom
