Catching up
I feel the need to blog, or ‘journal’ i suppose. it has been quite some time since the last post, the Holiday’s came and went. It has been a long morning and I’m ready for Max’s nap… that he is taking right now. I will get the pictures updated, but just need to vent first. We went home to Rochester for Thanksgiving and had a great time, busy busy and even got to see the Argentine’s too. We had an afternoon at the Strong Kids Museum and an evening with my family at the McDade house. Max was as good as he could be for the car trips, we decided for Christmas that we would split up the trip and spend the night (ohhhhh what a baaaaddd idea!)… Eric got sick once we got home; and now we are all sick again once we got home last Friday the 28th from spending Christmas in Oneida. We are a little bitter about it, but making progress on getting better. Max has his first ear infection (bilateral no doubt too) and is on his first amoxicillin, the pediatrician said that we aren’t going to head down a slippery slope of a chronic ear infected kid if we chose to treat this one… let’s hope not.
We missed out on New Years on our block, we woke up at 11:50 to watch our entire street fill with people to watch the ‘ball drop’ about 10 feet down on a light pole and one of our neigbors came out as baby new year!
I think we are finally making our way towards keeping a ‘real budget’ we were living 500$ above our means, nice huh? thus Lisa’s maternity fund took a big hit over the last year. I think I’m ready to get back to working a little more, for the money and my sanity. This kid just keeps me going all day long and my mother pointed out this morning, that i’m frustrated because he isn’t accomodating ‘my agenda’… yes indeed. he is refusing a morning nap lately, although it’s all been thrown off with being sick. I answered a craigslist ad for an art student looking for part time babysitting work, she already got back to me and i’ll connect with her in a couple of weeks when we are both in town. My next step after the blog is to call the staffing coordinator at the hospital i work at to see what the upcoming needs are…
let’s save this before i lose it, ‘it’ being the blog and my sanity!
