a quick collection of the last month’s pictures. Max is making a great tackle in the rugby shot huh?

the blurry standing up one is included because he was in motion walking right towards me, i wanted to capture that along with a full length shot of the cute outfit the Readings picked out for him last spring. i never thought it would fit him! Good thing we still get 80 degree days in October in Baltimore!

we just love the shot in the overalls, his head really is that big with his skinny little neck, i’m suprised you can’t see his big McDade cheeks in it.

1112.jpgthis last shot is just so sweet, he must have just gotten up from a nap, he never looks that angelic and calm on his changing table!11.jpg

11month update

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Here we are at 11 months today! This week has brought some big changes! Maxi took his first steps last Sunday and is continuing to practice throughout his days!! He is getting tooth number 7, which the discomfort was masked we suppose by his viral bug last week.

Eric was reading Max a story about Miffy and her bicycle, upon mentioning Miffy’s bicycle, Max craned his head around Eric to point to Eric’s bike on the back porch! Hooray for Max!  Max has also enjoyed watching the Rugby World Cup, he points to the TV and watches so intently…

I am continuing to work my 7p-11:30p shifts (2 a week) at the pediatric rehab hospital and am really enjoying it. I am working with some great people who respect my experience (a lovely feeling as an agency nurse), and am having fun with the kids.  Max goes down right before I leave and then I’ll nurse him when I get home, he doesn’t even know I’m gone! I am so grateful for this opportunity and thank the unit every shift for having me. It couldn’t be a better situation for us, no childcare needed, the bills get paid first, then my savings and fun money second.  We even had a night out last weekend, thanks to our free babysitter! One of our friends who actually means “Call me to babysit.”

The Baltimore heat finally broke today, it’s 60 and cloudy. A perfect afternoon to bake up a squash for Max and cookies for Mommy and Daddy.

Ok, our mirror on the wall downstairs just came crashing down and I had no idea what or where the noise was. Max just went down for a nap and I am trembling something fierce. Don’t think the glass broke. So will go investigate. Max slept through the crash!

Just wanted to let everyone know that as I re-read the previous posts, I realize my grammar and typing have been horrible! I decided that it was better to get the thoughts out there and posted rather than not at all, since it had been months with way outdated pictures, that I last updated the blog. With that said, I’ll try to do better, but my point is to fill you all in on our goings-on, so what comes out of my fingers onto the screen is good enough!

Sick little Yogi

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Max and i had to skip yoga yesterday as he has a good ol fashioned cold. i thought his irritability Sunday night was the polyester pajamas (who knows; dr sears says it might be a reason) then the drippy nose and cranky baby showed it’s ugly head monday morning and away we go. so back to motrin and tylenol around the clock. it’s now thursday and the worst of it is over, but the snot keeps coming, at least he is back to himself for the most part. i thought i was being considerate to keep him away from the other kids, playground, story time etc, until my mother said pretty much “who cares?”

….well, as i thought about it, yeah, he may as well give it back to where he got it!!  except that when i see snot nosed kids i freak out inside and think “what an inconsiderate mother, how can she just bring her child out like this, teething my ass, your kid is sick!” So we went to the playground and he had a fabulous time. Poor kid, we walked by it yesterday and he whined and pointed because we weren’t stopping!

as i finish up this post, my little beast awakens…so must adjourn.

And a final shot out to Daddy who is on an easy month at work!! he actually comes home in a timely fashion and can sneak away earlier too. no worries though, if you add up all the cumulative hours for the year, he has put in his fair share of 80hours/week!  He also is presenting a poster on some neurology thing, incidence of depression in early parkinson’s, or something like that….at the fall meeting of the American Neurology Association. too bad the meeting is nearby in DC and not someplace cool like seattle.

ok, i hear binkies getting tossed over the side of the crib…
